Marc Anthony Hits The Stage After The Death Of His Mother

Marc Anthony hit the stage Saturday, just two days after the death of his mother, Guillermina Quiñones.

The 48-year-old was the halftime act for the International Champions Cup, a soccer match pitting Real Madrid against Barcelona at Miami, Florida's Hard Rock Stadium.

The New York City native performed in an abbreviated set which incorporated some of his more popular works such as I Need to Know, Vivir Mi Vida, La Gozadera and Tu Amor Me Hace Bien.

The Grammy award-wining vocalist on Thursday tweeted the news of his mother's passing with a heartbreaking tribute.

'Today at 12:10pm my family's hero, our rock, our protector, inspiration and now ANGEL passed away,' he wrote.

'She left in peace, accompanied by all your prayers and well wishes for which we thank you all. Mami, I'm going to miss you so much!'

The popular singer on July 23 asked fans to 'please pray for my mom,' and declared, 'I love you Mommy,' in a tweet after she was hospitalized in Puerto Rico.

He was previously spotted visiting his mother at a hospital with girlfriend, Raffaella Mondugno.

Earlier Saturday, his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez, paid tribute to her former mother-in-law with a sweet Instagram post showing Marc with his six children, writing, 'Just what the doctor ordered...Surrounded by love...'
