Queen Latifah ‘cancels Bill Cosby interview after rape allegations resurface’

QUEEN Latifah has cancelled a scheduled interview with Bill Cosby after rape allegations against him resurfaced.

TMZ reports that the host and her producers don’t want The Queen Latifah Show to be associated with Cosby because of his alleged history. The comedian was booked to promote his new comedy tour.

Cosby, best known for playing family man Dr Heathcliff Huxtable in The Cosby Show, has been accused of grooming, drugging and raping numerous young women from the 1970s until at least 2004.

However, public discussion around the claims have heated up after comedianHannibal Buress called Cosby a “rapist” in a recent stand-up set.

“Bill Cosby has the f*****g smuggest old black man public persona that I hate. ‘Pull your pants up, black people. I was on TV in the ’80s. I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom’. Yeah, but you raped women, Bill Cosby. So, (that) brings you down a couple notches. ‘I don’t curse on stage.’ But yeah, you’re a rapist,” Buress said at a Philadelphia show on October 16.
“Dude’s image, for the most part, it’s f*****g public Teflon image. I’ve done this bit on stage and people think I’m making it up ... That s**t is upsetting. If you didn’t know about it trust me. When you leave here, Google ‘Bill Cosby rape.’ It’s not funny. That s**t has more results than ‘Hannibal Buress’.”

On having a daughter - “We tried for a little bit, and then after a while I realized that I did not care about the sex of the baby and I was ready for what God wanted me to have. I just wanted to continue to learn and grow and become the man I am supposed to become, and the father that
I am supposed to be. Then all of sudden we had this little miracle and I would not change this for the world. This experience has taught
me that you might not get what you want, however, you always get what you need, and what I needed was a daughter.”

VIBE Calls Sam Smith The Ruler Of Soul Music

Sam Smith has taken over America with his soulful voice and refreshingly honest vibe.  Vibe put the UK star on their cover and crowned him (and his album The Lonely Hour) the ruler of soul, they got exactly what they wanted: Heavy debate about what this means exactly.

The mag wrote:
Sam Smith will own the Grammys. Quote us. The blue-eyed singer is 2014’s soul controller. Deal with it. While resting in his Cambridge hometown, UK’s latest import gets real on the annoying fame monster, being gay and those constant Adele comparisons.

On Adele and Ed Sheeran comparisons
I think if we’re going to talk about the percentage of people who are ripped, and skinny and beautiful-looking, we’re not all like that. I will take a page out of Adele’s book. She said ‘I make music for the ears not the eyes.’ I will say that too. I make my music for people to listen to—for people to hear my voice and hear what I’m saying. I’m not bothered about what I’m wearing or my weight.
Ed is at a completely different stage in his career and so is Adele. The similarities between me and Adele, I think they’re quite lazy, actually. What I do take from it is that it must be about songwriting, the fact that we don’t twerk on stage and we stand and actually sing.
On whether he was scared that coming out would affect album sales
Of course! I thought about doing it after the album was released. But that’s not true to me and I wanted people to know where I’m coming from on the record. But my fear was that some stupid people in the world weren’t going to pick up a piece of work that I was very proud of just because of their views. I listen to Beyonce albums, Stevie Wonder albums, John Legend albums. They’re straight people talking about love yet I can still relate to their music and they can still relate to mine.
On being a gay man in the UK vs. the U.S.
Truthfully, it’s completely the same, which is surprising to me actually. It doesn’t seem to be an issue. I make music for everyone. Music is limitless, that’s what I like to think. Whether I’m in America or Japan, it’s all love and I hope it continues.
On working with Mary J. Blige
Unbelievable. I find it hard to be myself sometimes on a record. Working with Mary was one of the first times I was just myself. Mary J. Blige shows who she is, flaws and all, and that is so inspiring. I call Mary a friend and I call her up and I’ll text her and she’ll text me just to see how I’m doing and to have support from someone like that is truly unbelievable. I am so privileged to be part of her record.

Teyana Taylor Gets TOMBOY Sexy For Rolling Out Cover

Teyana Taylor

is serving up some tomboy sexy for the newest issue of Rolling Out magazineThe “Maybe” singer is gearing up to release her debut album titled VII (Nov. 4th), releasing new visuals and tracks from the upcoming LP.

In between studio sessions, media appearances and filming for a new BET scripted series “The Start Up”, G.O.O.D. Music’s first lady is putting her model skills to work.

Below are the highlights:

On dealing with negativity:
“I don’t block that s--- out; it hurts,” Taylor says.“But then you also have the brighter side of things. It’s a give and take. If you can take compliments, then you should be able to take when people have negative things to say. It’s very hurtful, but I don’t block it out. It hurts, then I speak about it, and then it’s over. You’ll read one negative comment out of 99 good comments, but it will be that one negative comment that will really have you pissed off. But once you relax a little bit and calm down and think about the good, then it makes you feel better and you go about your day.”

On dating NBA player Iman Shumpert:
“I’m happy,” she admits about her relationship with Shumpert. “I’m not on the phone too much and I’m not really on social media now. When you have a peace of mind, which is your companion, you listen to your man so when he’s telling you to calm down, then eventually you let it go. But when you’re in your own space and you feel independent with your feelings, then it’s just like, ‘OK, I’m going to do what I want to do.’ But when you have your peace of mind, it takes your mind off all the negativity and all the people that [are] trying to bother you.”
On Pharrell and Kanye West:
“Pharrell and Kanye are perfectionists and that’s all they surround themselves with and that’s all they know,” she shares. “When you’re around that, it automatically rubs off on you. So everything I do has to be perfect, it can’t be half-a--ed. You either gotta do it or not do it at all. So, definitely perfection is the most important thing.”
